Job Summary
In this role, you will work as a member of the Community Planning team under a Manager or Principal on a variety of planning projects. Duties will include project management support, leading client communications, facilitating meetings, preparing and delivering reports, memos, applications, and presentations, conducting research, and coordinating with co-workers, clients, project team members, and regulatory agencies on scheduling and deliverables. In addition, you will plan and implement public engagement activities and create informative, attractive, and easy-to-read materials to communicate complex ideas.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Geography, or a related field
- At least five years of experience in the planning field
- Experience in project coordination
- Excellent verbal, written, and web-based communication skills
- Experience facilitating meetings
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Understanding of land use policy and the ability to interpret and apply comprehensive plans and development codes
- Ability to assist with code audits and code writing
- Knowledge of public engagement programs, including outreach to diverse communities through interviews, focus groups, questionnaires, public events, and advisory committee meetings
- Experience conducting research and preparing reports on land use, housing, physical, social, and economic issues
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work with multiple project managers
- Proficient with Microsoft and Adobe Creative Suite
Desired Experience and Skills
- Graduate degree in Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or related field
- Knowledge of Oregon and/or Washington Statewide Planning Systems
- Ability to read and interpret development plans
- Graphic design skills
- Familiarity with ArcGIS and Bluebeam Revu
Salary Range
$75,000 - $90,000 depending on experience
