Candidate for Vice President

Serah Breakstone AICP (she/her)

I have served on the OAPA Board in various capacities over the last decade. I spent several years on the Conference Committee and most recently I served two terms as Board Treasurer. I'm hoping for the opportunity to continue to be part of the Board, contributing my time, knowledge, and experiences to help the Board further its mission of great planning in Oregon. I bring a deep understanding of Oregon land use planning practices, experience doing planning work at multiple levels of governance and across various scales and disciplines, and a desire to connect with colleagues around the issues that impact our lives and professions. The Board is a great platform for understanding the ever-shifting dynamics of planning in Oregon and contributing to its evolution.

I spent about 15 years as a land use consultant, working for several great firms in Portland doing a mix of long-range public sector work and private development work. Currently, I manage the 2040 Planning & Development Grants Program at Metro, where I have the pleasure of working with all the Metro jurisdictions to help facilitate important planning work across the region.
