Candidate Statement: Erik Forsell (he/him)

I bring various experiences from public-facing land use planning work in Oregon, including Lane County, Columbia County, Canby, Portland, and Clackamas County.

I hope to strengthen and help support the profession and its members. Planning at times, has become increasingly trivialized as unnecessary and costly to development and growth. I feel that now, likely more than ever, it is important to support the profession and the people who work in it.

Recently, I am finding the intersections of politics and planning to be interesting and important.

I love infill development that is done well. I’ve worked on many of the first iterations of middle housing in Portland and found it to be fresh and innovative.

It was a nice step out from my typical work and met many great designers and people who had new ideas on how to further densify and provide ‘more affordable ish’ housing stock.
